2.5.3 Ditches

A public drainage ditch established under Minnesota Statutes Chapter 103E is located partly within this subwatershed.  County Ditch #27 includes two separate areas: a portion of Long Lake Creek, and the outlet for French Lake (that segment is outside this subwatershed).   Established in 1915, the purpose of the ditch was to drain wetlands to promote agriculture.  The Long Lake Creek portion of the ditch begins just south of the Luce Line Trail, runs through wetlands 862W and 859W, and outlets into Tanager Lake.
