4.7 Wetland Issues

Wetland Conservation

The watershed includes numerous wetlands with high to exceptional vegetative diversity, fish and wildlife habitat and aesthetic values.  High-value wetlands should be conserved from future alteration or degradation, and all other wetlands should be protected based on their classification.

Wetland Restoration

Degraded wetlands with restoration potential may provide opportunities to increase overall functions and values of wetlands in the watershed, or to increase acreage through the restoration of drained or partially drained wetlands.
