Big Island Restoration

The City of Orono purchased Big Island in 2006 with the help of the State of Minnesota and the Minnehaha Creek Watershed District. MCWD has an easement over the 56 acres of the park. The current activity, started fall 2008 and ending in 2009, is a shoreline and bluff restoration. For more information about Big Island or the restoration project contact MCWD's Project Manager.
