Public Lands Day Hike

Coldwater Spring, Minneapolis
Saturday, September 30, 2017 10:00 am -12:00 pm

Join in on the celebration of National Public Lands Day at historic Coldwater Spring in Minneapolis. We'll be hosting guided nature hikes with Wilderness Inquiry that include in-depth information about this historical site, which was the first American settlement in Minnesota. The event is free and includes kids' activities.

Because of limited parking at Coldwater Spring, we encourage participants to bring their bikes and park at Minnehaha Falls to bike over to the site. We will provide a free bike check at Coldwater Spring for attendees.

”Public Lands Day Hike" is part of “Jump In & Make a Splash!” - a series of community events across the watershed celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Minnehaha Creek Watershed District. The series concludes with the Sunset Celebration on Thursday, November 2 at St. Mary’s Greek Orthodox Church in Minneapolis, featuring live music, food and drink. Tickets are $40. People who attend at least five events qualify for half-price admission and those who attend all nine events get in for free!

The event is sponsored by MCWD and Wilderness Inquiry, in partnership with the Freshwater Society, 1-800-GOT-JUNK?, Berne Scale, REI, Target, Three Rivers Park District, and Tonka Bay Marina.
