Lake Data Statistical Analysis
Previous water quality analysis on 26 Lake Minnetonka bays and 11 upper watershed lakes was based on annual June-September mean values of total phosphorus (TP), chlorophyll a (CHLA), and Secchi transparency (SECC). The trend analysis showed mixed results of water quality improvement and degradation.
Dr. Lorin K. Hatch, Senior Water Quality Specialist of HDR Engineering, Inc, performed a statistical analysis to better understand the health of MCWD lakes. Specifically, he determined statistically significant improvement or degradation of water quality at the sampling sites on a monthly time scale and explore water quality relationships and trends in Halsted, Jennings, and Stubbs Bays in Lake Minnetonka.
