19-614 & W19-38: Board Consideration

The MCWD Board of Managers is considering MCWD permit application 19-614 and WCA application W19-38 as described below and is scheduled to take action on permit on February 13th, 2020 at 7:00 PM at the MCWD offices (lower room). MCWD Rules require notice to all property owners within 600' of the proposed permitted area as a courtesy, in the event there are any questions or concerns.

19-614: The Bakken Museum has applied for a Minnehaha Creek Watershed District permit for Erosion Control, Wetland Protection, Stormwater Management and an Exception to the buffer provisions of the Wetland Protection rule for a proposed building addition located at 3537 Zenith Avenue South in the City of Minneapolis. The project has applied for a WCA De Minimis Exemption to impact 370 square feet of the wetland onsite and has applied for an Exception from providing the minimum wetland buffer width required. The applicant has submitted plans that demonstrate the project will exceed stormwater management requirements by treating the existing parking lot, resulting in an additional 0.65 lbs/yr of total phosphorus (TP) removal than is required from treating the new impervious surface from the building addition (0.17 lbs/yr TP removal).

If you would like to review the application materials in detail, please contact Heidi Quinn at or 952-641-4504 to make an appointment. If you plan to attend this meeting, please call to confirm that the permit application is on the agenda or check the MCWD website at
