Permit #20-624; Kenilworth Channel Stabilization and Naturalization

The Minnehaha Creek Watershed District (MCWD) is reviewing a permit #20-624 for compliance with District rules. The Minneapolis Park & Recreation Board is proposing to replace an existing timber retaining wall along the streambank of the Kenilworth Channel, and replacing it with a reconstructed, naturalized streambank. MCWD regulates the project under our Erosion Control, Floodplain Alteration, and Shoreline & Streambank Stabilization rules. The project will provide additional flood storage, and will be revegetated with native seed.
