Permit #24-367: Lake Minnetonka Flats Exception Request
The MCWD Board of Managers is considering MCWD permit application 24-367 as described below and is scheduled to take action on permit on October 10th at 7 pm at 15320 Minnetonka Blvd, Minnetonka. 24-367: Monarch Development Partners, on behalf of Russell and Betty Falness, have applied for a Minnehaha Creek Watershed District permit for Erosion Control, Wetland Protection, and Stormwater Management for the construction of a 12-unit condominium complex at 2420 & 2400 Commerce Blvd in the City of Mound. The Applicant has requested an Exception to Section 5 of the Wetland Protection Rule, which requires that a vegetated buffer 75 feet in average width be established adjacent to a wetland with a Preserve management classification. To offset the water quality loss of buffer width and area, the Applicant proposes to capture and treat approximately an acre of currently untreated runoff from Commerce Blvd, and to enhance wetland buffer performance through soil amendments and an enhanced buffer planting plan.
