Permit #25-181: Orono and Long Lake Fiber Optic Installation

The Minnehaha Creek Watershed District (MCWD) is currently reviewing a permit application for a project across the city of Long Lake and north-central Orono. The project, proposed by Midcontinent Communications (Midco), involves providing fiber optic service to all parcels within the city and includes horizontal directional drilling underneath wetlands and streams.

MCWD reviews for compliance only with applicable MCWD rules. This project triggers our Waterbody Crossings and Structures and Erosion and Sediment Control Rules. The city, county, or another public agency may require other permits or approvals.
