Permit #26-183: Lake Nokomis Shoreline Enhancement

The Minnehaha Creek Watershed District (MCWD) is currently reviewing a permit application for a project at Lake Nokomis. The project, proposed by the City of Minneapolis Park Board, involves the enhancement of areas of the shoreline along Lake Nokomis including restoring areas of existing lawn to pollinator habitat, developing naturalized shoreline in various locations, and providing a turtle nesting habitat zone.

MCWD reviews for compliance only with applicable MCWD rules. This project triggers our Erosion Control, Floodplain Alteration, and Shoreline and Streambank Stabilization Rules. The city, county, or another public agency may require other permits or approvals.
