WCA Boundary and Type Application Tentative Deadline: For project planning purposes, Wetland Conservation Act (WCA) applicants should submit WCA Boundary and Type applications for this year by November 2, 2026. This tentative deadline is subject to changes in weather conditions, as the 2026 growing season ends. Applications received after this date may not be processed if field conditions do not allow for wetland delineation verification. If MCWD is unable to process an application, the applicant will need to resubmit in the spring, when field verification resumes.
Do I Need a Permit?
The following screening tool is designed to show what kinds of activities require an MCWD permit. Once you have an idea of whether your planned project may require a permit, use our online permitting portal to fill out a pre-application, and we’ll assist you through the application process.
Your project may require more than one permit based on MCWD’s regulations. Please answer all questions to see the full results of possible permits needed. This screening tool only evaluates your project for MCWD regulatory triggers. Your project may require permits from agencies other than MCWD such as the City, County, DNR, or USACE. This screening tool is not an official determination. Official determination can only be made by MCWD permitting staff.
